About Christine Ramos

Christine Ramos I am a Registered Professional Nurse with experience in maternal/child health, a Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Doula, and Certified Breastfeeding Counselor. Prior to becoming a nurse I worked in the mental health field with the mentally disabled and substance abusers as a counselor then later as an administrator of housing. I have earned two baccalaureate degrees, the first in Community Health Education from York College, City University of New York and the other in Nursing from State University New York at Stony Brook.

Being an intuitive I have always been naturally drawn to matters of the soul. Since I was a teenager I've studied spirituality and Eastern thought on well-being in an attempt to make sense of my extrasensory awareness. Becoming pregnant with my first child is what prompted me to change careers as I became captivated with the profoundly spiritual experience of bringing new life into the world. Wanting to pursue a second career in nurse-midwifery I quit my job as an administrator and went back to school. But instead of continuing my education in midwifery I found myself working as a maternity nurse in a large New York hospital.

I currently provide private pregnancy and postpartum services on an individual basis and write articles based on my blending of science and spirituality. My articles have been featured in numerous parenting magazines as well as websites such as "ModernMom.com", "CanadianParents.com", and "WomenOf.com". I also work in Maternal Child Health home care servicing pregnant teenagers and those in poverty. And twice a month I lead groups as a Breastfeeding Parent Educator for Winthrop University Hospital in NY. I am married, have two sons and a daughter and live in Long Island, New York. My new book, “A Journey Into Being” was written within the stolen moments of the three and half years following the birth of my third child and was just released June 2006.
