Knowing and Nurturing Our Children As Spirit

What does it mean to know and nurture a child as spirit? For that matter, what exactly is spirit? Spirit is what we all are before nature and nurture has a chance to influence us as a person. It is that quality which some refer to as “innateness”. And becoming attuned with this innateness of a child holds the key to unlocking the power that is divine within her.
My Inspiration for Intuitive Nurturing
As most of you know, I have 3 children. My second born, Ethan was a huge inspiration to the creation of Intuitive Nurturing. His arrival to our family forced me to put down the books written by experts and parent with the wisdom of my soul as well as my mind. In my case he and his sister officially shattered the idea of some stranger who knows nothing about my child having the capacity of being an “expert” on parenting them.
Young Children and Pain
What You Can Do to Increase Your Child's Comfort During Medical Procedures.
All of us parents, at one time or another, have gone through it. Whether because of routine treatments like vaccinations or hospital Emergency Room visits we as parents have likely felt utterly helpless as our children experience the pain of medical procedures. Some of us look away during treatment; others cry with them. And still yet some us get so upset when our child is hurting that we lash out at the person who's trying to help them. I'll never forget how my husband reacted when the E.D. nurse stuck our 3 year old son over and over again with an intravenous needle for treatment of dehydration. He shouted to leave our poor son alone only out of sheer desperation as our boy was screaming out in pain. Gratefully, this kind of scenario is on its way toward change for the better.
5 Things You Should Know About Your Pregnancy & Birth
Not much else changes your life in so many ways as having a child does. Pregnancy and childbirth are life altering events for women and their involved partners. Many women enter their birthing facility as a private and reserved individual only to succumb later to the throes of labor and literally let it all hang out. Having a baby can tell a woman a lot about herself that she previously did not know. Like the strength of her endurance, the magnificence of her body, and yes, the fact that there exists an occasion where she will not give a hoot who sees her in the most private of body positions. I strongly encourage pregnant women to embrace this truly magical time, a time when their own soul allows the entrance of another into this world. The following is a list of the five things I advise every expectant couple to know.

Yet what promises to be one of the most phenomenal experiences for you let us not overlook what baby goes through. From the pressure of suctioning her nose and mouth to the sharp pain of her first injection (vitamin K), her welcome can certainly seem unkind.
A Sign of Our Times: Controlling Nature's Process of Birth
When Angela was 5 months pregnant she was diagnosed as having a mild case of symphysis pubis dysfunction, (a condition during pregnancy where the gap between the two pubic bones widens, causing discomfort or pain). During a routine prenatal checkup in her 34th week, Angela complained to her obstetrician that her pelvic discomfort was keeping her from having a decent night's sleep. Her obstetrician readily assured her that in four weeks she would not have to endure the discomfort any longer. He planned on inducing her labor on her 38th. week of gestation. Though initially uncertain whether she wanted a medically induced labor Angela complied with her doctor’s plan simply because she trusted his judgment. She figured if it there were any risks he would sit her down and discuss them, not appear so confident and unconcerned as he did during that visit in his office. Angela was scheduled for induction on the Wednesday of her 38th week.
